My Journey: Atheism to Angels

I started out as an atheist.

When I was eighteen I thought we were limited purely to the material world. I certainly had morality, but any idea that there was a god or that there was more to this reality seemed completely alien to me. This is not to say that I was totally insulated from religion either but it took me a long time to go from being an atheist to communicating directly with angels.

I grew up around Methodism and whilst the people I met were wonderful, I couldn’t help feeling that everything revolved around the Holy Father and Jesus. Of course Jesus brings a wonderful message and he is someone who I have now formed strong relationship with. However, I just felt that it was all about men and there weren’t any figures I felt I could identify with.

Indonesia taught me an important lesson.

During my gap year I visited Indonesia to teach English as a foreign language. Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country and it took the students a little while to open up to me. I quickly discovered their reality was very different to mine. You can imagine my surprise when they began discussing the ancestral spirits that were all around them and in turn they were shocked that I wasn’t aware of them and couldn’t see them! In Indonesia the presence of ancestral ghosts is so much part of the normal everyday it is just taken for granted. This completely changed my outlook of what is “normal” and in due course I learnt to communicate directly with angels and Source god. 

I craved a spirituality I could identify with.

This is what led me to create the Lightseeker’s Way, I wanted to find a spirituality anyone could identify with. I have never liked dogmatism and I want to create a space that can bring people together regardless of their race, religion, gender, or anything else. I don’t want to tell you what to believe and if you don’t believe in angels or god that doesn’t mean that you cannot seek love and light or tread your highest path. Atheism can be a spiritual path just like belief in something greater than oneself can be.
